YHOPE · SMART SWITCH PANELS
On Indian projects the wiring is rarely the problem — the supply environment is. A grid nominally rated at 230V swings hard at the end of the feeder, large loads switch on and off through the day, and monsoon lightning rides in on the same conductors. Specify panels as if for a stable temperate grid and the failures arrive a few months after handover: flickering backlights, devices stuck offline in the app, welded relay contacts. The effort of re-selecting early stays far below the effort of rework. YHOPE (Guangdong Shunde Yuanhe Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.) has built smart switches and smart home OEM since 2009; this page maps the requirements Indian hotel, apartment and villa projects raise most often to specific series and modules.
Self-built houses at the end of a feeder, top-floor circuits in tall buildings and industrial-park residential blocks all see the supply fall well below the nominal rating. If the module's power stage hits its operating floor, the device resets, drops off the network and loses its scene state — the client only reports "the device is always offline in the app". Check the input voltage range in writing, not the nominal voltage.
A lightning strike, or a large load switching elsewhere on the line, produces a transient that punches through the power front end. This is separate from the voltage-swing problem, and it needs a separate answer: an SPD in the distribution board as the first line, plus surge tolerance inside the device as the second.
Room projects fail at handover, not on the invoice: rooms that go unresponsive when the network drops, front-desk and in-room systems that do not talk to each other, and no agreed spare-part route for later maintenance. These are selection and platform decisions, not feature decisions.
Every product on this platform runs on 40–400V wide voltage with 4kV surge resistance, in a V0 flame-retardant enclosure (German Bayer PC material) backed by a 5-year warranty. The value of wide voltage is not "higher is better" — it is that the device keeps starting and running through abnormal supply windows instead of resetting repeatedly. Wide voltage is tolerance, not a licence to run permanently out of range: undersized cable, oxidised joints and undersized transformers remain electrical design problems.

Q1: Will it survive our 230V grid fluctuation?
A: Every product runs on 40–400V wide voltage, which covers the common Indian grid range and keeps the device running through abnormal supply windows.
Q2: Is an SPD still needed if the device has 4kV surge tolerance?
A: Yes. Wide voltage addresses operating stability during abnormal supply; an SPD addresses high-energy transient spikes. They form a two-stage chain — the SPD discharges the bulk of the energy and the smart switch absorbs the residue. Dropping either stage usually shows up during monsoon season.
Q3: How do I specify switches for geysers or air-conditioning loads?
A: Specify by circuit current — use the 40A double-pole module (X18L / D60AG) or a KNX 20A module. Note that no-neutral switches must not carry motor loads or high-voltage lamps.
Q4: Can rooms still be controlled when the hotel network is down?
A: Yes. The Tuya Hotel SaaS RCU host provides 4 local dimming groups plus PWM groups that keep running without the gateway; Bluetooth devices can have local scenes pushed down via the gateway and then run standalone.
Q5: What certification does an India project need?
A: Establish the applicable mandatory local requirements first, then verify international credentials. YHOPE holds CE / IEC (ICE) / CQC / KC / CB / FCC / RoHS / REACH, ISO 9000 and 3C, plus Huawei Ark Lab certification. India-specific certification status is listed in the pending items below.
